Week 1 Recap- Closed Guard Top Position

Week one we covered the fundamentals of closed guard from the top position. Don’t be confused by the word “fundamentals”. This is a very challenging position to maintain. Mastery of maintenance will lend itself to becoming a good top guy and dominating other top positions.

Learning objectives include:

1. maintain position w/ bicep control

2. maintain position w/ hip control

3. maintain position w/ torso control

4. maintain position by pressure

5. maintain position by closing space
